Building a Design Specification.
We created a list of design requirements and goals based on our previous work (e.g. interviews, personas, journey map). This helped us specify the qualities that our design solution should have to satisfy the needs of our persona archetypes. Additionally, this allowed us to narrow the scope of our project. We then used our design requirements and goals to generate ideas for potential interactions and later illustrate them in our storyboards.
Key Requirements & Goals.
- Provide a platform for users to discuss games, ask questions, and coordinate group game-play.
- Allow users to contact each other smoothly and efficiently.
- Optimize the process of searching for people to play games with and finding games of interest.
- Give users the option to self-identify to counter systemic invisibility (e.g. profile tags).
- Ease initiation and participation in social gaming for people not already a part of established gaming communities.
