As the first step in the user-centered design (UCD) process, we conducted semi-structured interviews with three college-age players of social and multiplayer games. We asked about their use of technology, level of participation in gaming communities, and experiences of inclusion and exclusion within gaming spaces.
Our research helped us better understand the needs of our users and revealed their characteristics, desires, goals, and pain points. We synthesized these findings to construct our user personas next.
Research findings listed on sticky notes and separated by user characteristics, technology, desires, goals, and pains.
