For this project, the last step in the UCD process was creating a high-fidelity (hi-fi) prototype. We drew from the work we completed throughout the quarter to come up with the final iteration of our design and present it in a professional, visually appealing manner.
We started by deciding on a color scheme and general layout. We then removed placeholders and focused on refining elements of our design according to the findings from our usability tests. We included icons, where applicable, to communicate function and organization without relying too much on text.
Essentially, the hi-fi prototype allowed us to achieve a higher level of detail that we did not include in any previous part of the design process. We were able to see what our design would look like in the hands of users and further develop its core functionalities.
